A Brief History
After working for many years in metal and stainless steel especially, the manufacturers of what is now the Phoenix trike decided to enter the ultralight market, in particular - the trike market. Having specialized in stainless steel as well as aluminium, they were also experts in welding, both TIG and MIG techniques. So it comes as no surprise that the resulting product from all this is one of the strongest and most eye catching designs to come out of Europe. The Phoenix enjoys a strong following in Europe and over the years has been picked by many experienced pilots as their machine of choice for comfort, strength, durability and features. 

The trike has been fully tested and documented to show the strength of this unit. Progressive static load testing has been carried out up to an impressive 2,700kg. or 5,940 lbs. which means a maximum positive loading of 6-G. The trike chassis has resisted deformation to all but a very small area of a landing gear leg. It is worth pointing out that this test demonstrates the integral overall strength and robustness of the trike to easily support its 450 kg (990lb) designed maximum load. We welcome a load test comparison challenge between the Phoenix and any other trike on the market.

THE ENGINE…
We have undertaken extensive engine testing of 2 stroke and 4 stroke engine types at the factory. Fully researched and tested installations of both 2 and 4 stroke engines are offered on the Phoenix, thanks to the experience and close design collaboration of our technical staff with engine manufacturers.

THE TRIKE: 
With a choice of trike only, or with Rotax 503, 582 or 912 for a combination to suit all tastes and pilot needs. A 30hr. kit version is now available for those who want to self assemble their trike. The Phoenix has been ergonomically designed to make sure that even on long cross-country flights, both pilot and passenger experience the utmost in comfort. Suspension is through a sprung steel 35mm diameter tube. While other manufacturers only fit drum brakes to the nose wheel, we offer dual main wheel brakes which are far more effective.  And no these are not drum brakes, typical of other trike makes, we have gone the extra mile and spared no expense to offer our customers full disc brakes on both main wheels, which affords the most effective way of braking a trike. Now who else can offer you this?  The seats are not only comfortable but also easy to remove for cleaning, or to keep dry if caught in an unexpected down pour while on a cross-country flight.

Two choices of instrument pods are offered, the standard or the deluxe. Although instruments are not included in the price as the North American distributors for MGL Avionics Stratomaster and Smart Singles, we can offer a special price for the very latest "state of the art" digital glass cockpit style instruments from the Stratomaster line (recommended).  These instruments offer a choice of flight only to complete engine and flight units with fuel flow and level, glide slope angle and much, much more (see our instruments page). The engine mount is adaptable for all Rotax engines from 503, 582 and 912 models. (Prices below do not include prop and wing*)
